ELECTION INFORMATION

CANDIDATES FOR MAYOR MUST BE:

  • A United States citizen
  • 18 years of age or older on the first day of the term to be filled at the election or on the date of appointment
  • Not determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated; or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote
  • Not been finally convicted of a felony from which the person has not been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities
  • A continuous resident in the state for 12 months
  • A registered voter in the City
  • A resident within the municipal limits for at least the 12 months preceding election day

CANDIDATES FOR CITY COUNCIL MUST BE:

  • Not determined by a final judgment of a court exercising probate jurisdiction to be totally mentally incapacitated; or partially mentally incapacitated without the right to vote

  • A resident within the municipal limits for six months immediately preceding the date of the regular filing deadline for a candidate's application for a place on the ballot

GENERAL ELECTION MAY 2, 2020

Early voting will be held at the Redwater Community Center, 120 Redwater Blvd W, Redwater TX

        First day of early voting:    April 20, 2020

        Last day of early voting:    April 28, 2020


Election Day voting will be held at Redwater Jr. High School, 204 Red River Rd S, Redwater TX

How and when to submit applications for a place on ballot:

Candidate packets can be picked up from the City Secretary's office at Redwater City Hall, 120 Redwater Blvd W, Redwater, TX, between the hours of 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (closed for lunch 12:30 - 1:30), Monday - Friday, beginning January 15, 2020.


  • 1st day to file:    January 15, 2020
  • Last day to file:  February 14, 2020
